My Journey
Born in the bustling city of Bangalore in 1998, I’ve been surrounded by technology from an early age. My fascination with computers began when I was just 8 years old, after my father brought home our first family PC. I still remember the excitement of booting it up for the first time and exploring the wonders of Windows XP.
Early Years and Education
My passion for technology grew throughout my school years. At 13, I joined the computer club at Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram, where I first learned the basics of HTML and CSS. This early exposure to coding sparked a fire that would shape my future.
In 2016, I was thrilled to be accepted into the Computer Science program at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus. Those four years were transformative, filled with late-night coding sessions, intense project deadlines, and the camaraderie of like-minded tech enthusiasts.
College Experiences
During my time at BITS Pilani, I had some defining moments:
- In my sophomore year, I participated in my first hackathon, “Code for Good,” organized by JP Morgan. Our team created a mobile app to connect local farmers with urban consumers, winning third place.
- The summer of 2018 saw me attending a two-month coding bootcamp at Coding Ninjas in Delhi, where I deep-dived into full-stack development.
- In my final year, I led our college team to the national finals of Microsoft Imagine Cup with our project on AI-driven crop disease detection.
Professional Beginning
After graduating in 2020 (yes, the pandemic year!), I started my career as a junior software developer at a Bangalore-based startup, TechInnovate Solutions. Working on their flagship product, a CRM system for small businesses, I gained valuable experience in real-world software development and team collaboration.
Birth of PikaShowAPKGuide.com
The idea for my blog was born out of frustration. In early 2021, while trying to help my cousin troubleshoot an app issue, I realized how scattered and often unreliable app-related information was online. This sparked the idea for a platform that would provide clear, concise, and trustworthy guides on various apps.
I launched PikaShowAPKGuide.com in June 2021, starting with just five articles. To my surprise, the blog gained traction quickly, especially among young Android users in India. By the end of 2021, I was getting over 10,000 monthly visitors!
Beyond the Screen
While technology is a huge part of my life, I believe in maintaining a healthy balance. Here’s a glimpse into my life outside of tech:
- Every morning at 6 AM, you’ll find me jogging along the shores of Miramar Beach in Goa. There’s something magical about watching the sunrise over the Arabian Sea.
- I’m a huge basketball fan, playing three times a week with a local team at the Fatorda Indoor Stadium. We even won the Goa State Basketball Championship in 2022!
- My favorite spot to work (and unwind) is Cafe Mam’s Corner in Panjim. Their filter coffee and vegetable puffs are unbeatable!
Recent Achievements
In 2023, I was invited to speak at the Android Developers Meetup in Mumbai, where I shared my experiences of building a successful tech blog. This opportunity opened doors to collaborations with several app developers and tech companies.
Looking Forward
While coding will always be my first love, I’m increasingly drawn to the world of tech entrepreneurship. I’m currently working on a SaaS idea that aims to simplify app analytics for small developers. Who knows, maybe by this time next year, I’ll be writing about my startup journey!
